NORTHBROOK, Ill., Feb. 2, 2016 — UL, a global leader in safety science, today announced the acquisition of cr360, a market leader in environment, health and safety management and sustainability software. cr360’s products help businesses gather vital data, predict trends, analyze anomalies and fulfill regulatory and company reporting requirements.
UL acquired cr360 to provide customers with a comprehensive platform and unifying framework for consistently tracking, measuring and managing environment, health and safety, supply chain and corporate social responsibility metrics on a global basis.
As part of this acquisition and to reflect the capabilities and scope of the combined entities, the new business will be named UL EHS Sustainability.
“Regulators and investors continue to demand increased transparency and demonstrated corporate compliance from business operations,” said Mark Ward, General Manager, UL EHS Sustainability. “UL now has a more comprehensive EHS and sustainability global platform to give customers clarity, visibility and insights into operational performance and risk, and ultimately, profitability.”
Founded in 2004, cr360, a privately held company based in Cambridge, U.K., has more than 200 customers—mostly large multi-nationals—in more than 168 countries around the world.
UL and cr360’s combined portfolio will help strengthen global relationships with key customers. In addition, cr360 will leverage UL’s global scale and resources to expand into new markets.
