Underwriters Laboratories® partners with manufacturers to provide safe products to consumers through UL testing, certification and follow-up audits. Because the UL Mark is so important, manufacturers must submit a design layout of the UL Mark to a UL label center for review to verify that all required information is in an acceptable format. UL maintains a database of suppliers who are authorized by UL to print labels with the UL Mark.
This section of the site offers information and resources, such as:
- Information on printing UL Marks
- Where to find authorized label suppliers
- Information about Follow-Up Services procedures
- How to submit revisions and images to UL
Authorized label suppliers
UL provides certification to manufacturers that can be identified by consumers through the use of the UL Mark on the product. UL authorizes certain suppliers to print labels with the UL Mark. An advance review eliminates potential disruption in production due to an unacceptable UL Mark design. Learn more.
Follow-Up Services procedures
UL offers Follow-Up Services that audit products at predefined intervals after the initial certification so that manufacturers and consumers can feel confident that quality is maintained.
Global Security & Brand Protection
Over the last 20 years, the amount and types of products appearing in the marketplace with counterfeit marks has increased. These potentially hazardous goods are introduced into national distribution systems and onto the shelves of retailers in every region of the world. Because manufacturers, distributors, retailers, consumers and regulators have come to rely on the family of UL marks as a symbol of safety, we’ve invested in building a dedicated Global Security & Brand Protection program aimed at protecting UL’s brand and assets, and working in partnership with stakeholders to help combat intellectual property (IP) crime on a global basis.
