Food Contact Materials: Turkey Issues Notification No. 32538

On May 6, 2024, Turkey issued Notification No. 32538 to revise the nation’s Food Codex Regulation on food contact plastics (Communiqué No. 2019/44).

The latest revision implements three amendments to Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 on food contact plastics in the European Union (EU) into the nation’s law on food contact plastics. These are:

  • Regulation (EU) 2020/1245 (amendment 15 to Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011)
  • Regulation (EU) 2023/1442 (amendment 16)
  • Regulation (EU) 2023/1627 (amendment 17)

The amendment entered into force on May 6, 2024 – the date of publication. It will apply from January 1, 2026.
