The government of Canada has released SOR/2024-63 Regulations Amending Certain Regulations Concerning the Disclosure of Cosmetic Ingredients.

These regulations require cosmetic product manufacturers to provide with the documents required under subsection 30(1) of the Cosmetics Regulation. A person must not sell a cosmetic after the 10-day period beginning on the day on which the manufacturer or importer first sells that cosmetic if the Minister has not been provided these documents.

The inner labels of cosmetics must also have a telephone number, email address, website address, postal address or any other information that enables communication with a contact person to whom consumers may direct questions about the cosmetic.

The presence of fragrance allergens must also now be disclosed according to these regulations save for the specified exemptions.

This will take effect on December 20, 2024.
