UL Solutions has expanded its television certification offerings in Indonesia to help manufacturers meet the evolving regulatory requirements for energy efficiency.

On Dec. 21, 2023, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) of Indonesia introduced a new regulation to help the Indonesian market identify televisions that consume less electrical energy. This new regulation, MEMR Decree No. 162.K/EK.06/DJE/2023, requires televisions sold in Indonesia to bear the Indonesian Energy Saving Label (Label Tanda Hemat Energi). The label includes a rating from one to five stars, with energy efficiency increasing with the number of stars. The regulation goes into effect on Dec. 21, 2024, and as of that date, manufacturers must demonstrate compliance to sell their televisions in Indonesia.
