The UL Solutions General Coverage program provides sign manufacturers with extensive flexibility for certification of custom-made signs, including channel letters, box signs, awning signs, changing message signs and portable signs. Signs can be certified for dry, damp or wet location installation.

The Sign Components database on UL Product iQ^® (previously known as the Sign Component Manual or SAM) is designed to be a buyer’s guide for general coverage sign shops and designers. There, manufacturers can perform parametric searches to quickly identify components that can meet their specific design needs.

For large signs that do not fit under the UL 48 General Coverage program, UL Solutions offers preliminary investigations and on-site evaluations that create a pathway toward certification and official approval for a specific project.
