On July 24, 2024, UL Solutions will attend the “American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) Traceability & Sustainability Conference” in Dearborn, MI.
During the conference, Michael Savarie, Circularity Program manager at UL Solutions, will join the panel discussion around “Regulating Sustainability: The European View” at 1:45 – 2:25 PM.
The panel discussion, moderated by Chelsea Murtha, Senior Director, Sustainability, AAFA will cover the EU's Eco-design for Sustainable Product Regulation. The regulation will establish new standards for producing circular and sustainable products, while also defining how these attributes are communicated to consumers and regulators.
Successfully navigating this evolving regulatory landscape will require companies to collect, manage, and communicate data about a product’s durability, recyclability, and environmental footprint.
Compliance with these requirements will also support reporting needs for other key frameworks, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and more.
