Winpod First Phone Booth in ASEAN to Be GREENGUARD Certified

In October 2022, Wintech's phone booth brand, Winpod, received UL GREENGUARD Certification, the first phone booth in this product range to receive UL GREENGUARD Certification in ASEAN. And upgrade to GREENGUARD Gold Certification in 2023. The market for phone booths has experienced growth and evolution in recent years, driven by changing work environments, privacy needs, and technological advancements.

Along with that comes the problem of indoor air quality. There can be anywhere from 50 to hundreds of individual volatile organic compounds (VOCs) circulating in indoor air at any time. Long-term exposure to certain VOCs may lead to chronic disease or cancer. These VOCs often come from products used in the manufacture and maintenance of building materials, interior furnishing, cleaning products and personal care products. It is therefore important that a phone booth not create or add to a detrimental air quality situation. GREENGUARD Certification emissions limits were first used as purchasing specifications for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the state of Washington for furniture and commercial building products. GREENGUARD Certification criteria have been the basis for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credit for low-emitting furniture since 2002. Office furniture products that are GREENGUARD Certified are also compliant with the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) X7.1 standard and BIFMA e3 credit 7.6.1.

Products with GREENGUARD Certification undergo rigorous testing to demonstrate their low emissions of VOCs, formaldehyde, and other harmful chemicals. It helps ensure the indoor air people breathe is cleaner and healthier.
