UL Solutions Software Intensive Systems (SIS) released Stages version 7.11, which uses generative artificial intelligence to help knowledge workers model processes more consistently and much faster than ever before.
Improving process definition with Stages AI
Stages 7.11 applies generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in its Stages AI capabilities, which can propose descriptions for activities, work products, roles and other process elements or help optimize existing ones. When designing new process workflows, Stages AI recommends detailed activities. The content generated by Stages AI takes modeling guidelines and best practices into account. The system’s proposed content can also be further optimized by supplying customer-specific process or standard documents.
Responsible AI
UL Solutions is committed to Responsible AI, and Stages AI upholds the principles of transparency, privacy, safety and security. To allow SIS to monitor the appropriate operation of the AI-based functionality, Stages AI capabilities are only offered via Stages Managed Service.
Process execution
Processes need to be applied in practice. To address potential challenges, Stages 7.11 adds support for executing Stages processes in Jira Cloud and IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) 7.0.3. Items in those systems can be automatically generated from Stages process activities or work products. Users can also start process workflows directly from Stages.
Alternatively, Stages processes can automatically be initiated by events in Jira and IBM ELM. From each generated item, knowledge workers can follow links back to the process description in Stages to better understand not only what is expected from them, but why, and how each step should be completed. Additional information like work product templates or practice descriptions are available with a single click.
Additional new Stages features
Stages 7.11 introduces templates for work product states and quality levels and adds multiple reminders and escalations for process release automations. The new version adds System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) support to automate user on- and offboarding and contains various other user interface, administration and security improvements.
Full details about the new Stages version are available in the release notes.
