MARIETTA, Ga., June 20, 2017 – UL Environment, a division of UL (Underwriters Laboratories), a global safety science leader, announced official recognition as a TSCA Title VI Third-Party Certifier (TPC) under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products final rule.
TSCA Title VI requires producers of hardwood plywood, particle board, medium density fiberboard, and thin medium density fiberboard sold into the United States to use an EPA recognized TPC and label products as compliant with the regulation.
UL Environment’s ISO 17025 accredited laboratories in Guangzhou, China and Marietta, Ga. are approved to perform the tests required to achieve compliance with the regulation. UL Environment is also a recognized TPC for the California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulation for formaldehyde emissions, upon which the EPA standard is based.
