UL Solutions has launched Software Intensive Systems (SIS) to help customers develop complex software systems that incorporate quality, security and safety across the product lifecycle.

SIS brings together the excellence of three industry-leading organizations — kVA, Method Park and Kugler Maag Cie) — into one global end-to-end offering. It provides a systematic, high-quality approach to speeding up innovation while implementing Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination (Automotive SPICE), cybersecurity, functional safety, autonomous safety (SOTIF), artificial intelligence, data science and more using the latest software and systems engineering techniques.

Industries such as automotive, medical devices, aerospace, transportation, and many others can benefit from the expertise of over 400 SIS experts who deliver training, consulting, assessments, engineering and the trusted “Stages” process management software.

SIS helps advance engineering excellence from strategy to tooling

At UL Solutions, we understand that a software world needs a different approach, and SIS provides our customers with process expertise for the entire product lifecycle.

“We have been on a journey the past five years since our acquisitions to combine and refine our expertise so we can bring our customers the best support when it comes to the ever-growing complexity of software engineering,” said Florian Schmidt, senior director Software Intensive Systems at UL Solutions.

“Software Intensive Systems brings together many well-known and respected people with insights, expertise and integrity under the roof of UL Solutions,” Schmidt said. “We are at the forefront of system and software excellence, safety, security, and quality and can now offer our customers end-to-end solutions: from highly strategic management consulting to hands-on execution.”
