UL Solutions Offerings for Telecommunications and IT Terminal Equipment in Vietnam

UL Solutions has expanded certification offerings to help manufacturers navigate compliance with Vietnam’s QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT on Electrical Safety for Telecommunications and IT Terminal Equipment.

On February 16, UL Solutions received official authorization from the Ministry of Information and Communications to implement the National Technical Regulation QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT. This regulation, based on the IEC 62368-1:2018 standard, outlines essential electrical and physical safety requirements for telecommunications and information technology terminal equipment.

Effective date of QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT

The origin of this regulation dates to January 1, 2024, when it became mandatory that all enterprises must conduct electrical safety testing for telecommunications and IT terminal equipment in compliance with QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT.

Products affected by QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT

The following product groups, identified by their respective HS codes, are subject to mandatory compliance to the regulation:

  1. DECT telephones (HS code 85171100)
  2. Desktop PCs (HS code 84714110)
  3. Digital cable TV signal decoding equipment (HS codes 85287111, 85287119, 85287191, 85287199)
  4. IPTV set-top boxes (HS codes 85287111, 85287119, 85287191, 85287199)
  5. DVB-T2 receivers (DVB-T2 TV, iDTV) (HS codes 85287292, 85287299)
  6. Cable TV network amplifiers (HS code 85176249)
  7. Cordless telephones (excluding DECT telephones) (HS code 85171100)
  8. Laptops (laptop PCs, notebook PCs) (HS code 84713020)
  9. Tablet PCs (HS code 84713090)
