TAIPEI, TAIWAN, December 10, 2019— To further accelerate their commitment to United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 13 on Climate Action, ASUS announced today they deployed Turbo Carbon™ software across the facilities they operate to measure and manage their carbon emissions in a more efficient way. This step enables ASUS to spend less effort on reporting and more effort on taking action to achieve their goal of reducing carbon emissions by half in 2025 against 2008 as a base year.
UL’s Turbo Carbon tool will gather activity data from across global facilities and automatically calculating the associated emissions data in real time to produce dynamic and intuitive performance dashboards for sustainability teams across the business.
TS Wu, chief sustainability office for ASUS said “We have always taken a data driven approach to carbon management. UL’s Turbo Carbon tool allows us to gather more data and generate clearer insight faster than our previous approach. This enables us to reallocate our sustainability team away from reporting to taking action.”
This represents another step forward in the collaboration between ASUS and UL, who recently worked together on a series of supplier sustainability conferences to educate and inspire suppliers to ASUS on why and how they should take climate action, with the key message being that accurate carbon emissions data must be central to their approach.
Alberto Uggetti, vice president and general manager of UL’s Environment and Sustainability Division said “it is always a pleasure to support ASUS on the journey toward sustainability. We are delighted to be able to extend our relationship to climate action through the sharing of our expertise and the deployment of digital tools such as Turbo Carbon.”
