On December 13, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a final Health and Safety Data Reporting Rule under Section 8(d) of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). See our Regulatory Update for a brief summary of that rule.

On March 13, 2025, in response to requests from stakeholders, EPA extended the reporting deadlines for all 16 substances covered by the December 2024 final rule. More specifically, EPA extended the deadline from March 13, 2025 to June 11, 2025 for Vinyl chloride and to Sept. 9, 2025 for the other 15 chemical substances.

EPA stated that it took this action to provide additional time for the regulated community to respond to the requirements of the TSCA Health and Safety Data Reporting rule. It also stated its intention to provide additional guidance to assist companies in complying with the reporting requirements.
