The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a direct final rule for the safety standard for infant and cradle swings (16 CFR Parts 1112 and 1223), as of May 30.
This direct final rule updates the mandatory standard to incorporate by reference ASTM F2088-24, Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Infant and Cradle Swings. The main changes are the section related to Tethered Strap or Cord Entrapment or Entanglement for Accessibility for Non-occupants.
The rule is effective on September 14, 2024, unless the Commission receives a significant adverse comment by July 1, 2024.
