What is Matter?
Matter is an open standard that allows manufacturers to connect their smart devices to many ecosystems that support Matter and interact with other Matter devices, including door locks, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) controls, lighting and electrical, media devices, safety and security sensors, and window coverings and shades.
It utilizes existing, widely implemented technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Thread, and is aimed at eliminating compatibility barriers among different ecosystems to achieve a more seamless interoperable user experiences.
As a globally trusted third-party testing and certification organization, UL Solutions continues to delve deep into the field of the Internet of Things (IoT).
Our SongShan Lake IoT Lab in Dongguan is one of the world’s first authorized global Matter certification laboratories (ATL) accredited by Connectivity Standards Alliance. Notably, it stands as the sole laboratory in China holding qualifications for both Matter and Thread testing.
