SVHC: ECHA Adds Five New Chemical Substances to the Candidate List

On Jan. 21, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced a list of substances added to the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs).

On Jan. 21, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced that the following substances are now part of the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs):

Octamethyltrisiloxane Manufacture and/or formulation of cosmetics, personal/health care products, pharmaceuticals, washing and cleaning products, coating and non-metal surface treatment and in sealants and adhesives Very persistent and very bioaccumulative
Perfluamine Manufacture of electrical, electronic and optical equipment and machinery and vehicles Very persistent and very bioaccumulative
O,O,O-triphenyl phosphorothioate Lubricants and greases Persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT)
6-[(C10-C13)-alkyl-(branched, unsaturated)-2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl]hexanoic acid Lubricants, greases, release products and metal-working fluids Toxic for reproduction
Reaction mass of: triphenylthiophosphate and tertiary butylated phenyl derivatives No active registrations PBT
