UL’s Additive Manufacturing Competency Center (AMCC) has opened registration for its initial course, Advanced Training on Metal Part Production. The course is the first of what will be a comprehensive advanced curriculum developed for established additive manufacturing technical and business professionals.
Introduced in May of 2015, the UL AMCC will be a hub for advancing manufacturing knowledge and workforce expertise. Located at the University of Louisville, the UL AMCC will offer robust additive manufacturing curricula for metals, polymers and composites via multi-day, experiential learning. Along with advanced material training, future course offerings will focus on specific industry applications, such as medical, aerospace, automotive and consumer products. Class sizes will be limited to enhance student interaction and overall experience.
Advanced Training on Metal Part Production will be offered beginning the week of September 14, 2015. The 5-day course begins with process and material fundamentals and progresses through design, build planning, process parameters, post-processing and quality evaluation. Students will also design and manufacture parts as part of project teams.
