NORTHBROOK, Ill., Feb 14, 2018 – UL has reached an agreement with Integrated Service Technology (iST) to establish a platform for testing transmitter and receiver products with high speed data connectivity, including but not limited to, USB, DisplayPort, high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) and mobile high-definition link (MHL) technologies. The turnkey solution offered by this joint initiative of UL and iST will cover product certification testing, debugging and pre-testing services to the respective industry specifications.
UL and iST will leverage their existing testing and certification capabilities to provide more comprehensive product evaluation services for connectors, cable assemblies and other products that support various high speed data connectivity technologies.
“Not only will the cooperation agreement allow both UL and iST to offer a comprehensive and customized platform for its signal testing business,” said Robby Tsai,general manager of iST’s signal integrity bureau, “but it will also allow both parties to expand this platform to meet the testing and certification needs from Asia to the rest of the world.”
“Through our cooperation with iST, UL is able to provide a broader range of testing services that can qualify manufacturers or brand owners to display the logos of respective industry specification on their wire and cable products,” said Fred Shek, director with UL of Greater China. “UL is more prepared to offer global 3C brand owners as well as Internet of Vehicle (IoV) developers a broad range of solutions that encompass safety, performance and compliance with coverage from IC design of signal transmission source, through the system to end products.”
