PITTSBURGH, PA – Sept. 13, 2019 – UL, a leading global safety science company, announced a new online self-service version of the global chemical regulatory intelligence software platform, UL’s Navigator platform.  This innovation facilitates fast and reliable online access to critical safety information needed for businesses to confirm product compliance, drive confidence and trust with stakeholders across the supply chain, and gain access to global markets.

UL’s Navigator platform is a knowledge database of chemical regulatory information, designed to help companies involved in supplying products containing chemicals understand the main regulatory requirements for more than 50 countries with simple explanations of complex topics and links to laws and helpful resources.

The software is constantly updated with the latest chemical regulatory information, collated by UL’s global team of regulatory experts, who scan markets for regulatory changes and provide actionable insights by transforming complex data into a simplified format. With the Navigator platform, users can access succinct summaries of compliance obligations organized by country, topic links to important regulations and resources, timely content updates, and quarterly newsletters.

According to Karen Lintz, managing director, Regulatory Assurance and Data Insights at UL. “UL’s Navigator platform helps businesses gain confidence and earn trust with their stakeholders. Many businesses are challenged to answer important questions when entering a new market, like does this country have a chemical inventory? What registrations or notifications must be submitted? What information does that require? How long will it take? How much will it cost? Has this country adopted the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)? What are the safety data sheet (SDS) and label requirements in this country? We are dedicated to helping our customers answer those questions and achieve what’s possible by leveraging our expertise and providing the latest expert knowledge and technology for chemical regulatory compliance.”
