UL Solutions Basingstoke Adds Appliance and Lighting Testing

On March 28, 2023, UL Solutions welcomed appliance and lighting manufacturers and distributors to tour the new lighting and appliance safety testing laboratory at the company’s Basingstoke, England facility. This laboratory was recently added to UL Solutions’ United Kingdom (U.K.) location, and attendees learned about the site’s new testing capabilities.

The new laboratory utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and the expertise of UL Solutions engineers and technicians. Available services include electrical safety, environmental, materials, endurance and wireless electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing for lighting and appliances.

“We have aimed to be as flexible as possible to accommodate a multitude of end products and components as the market requires,” Jordan Bucko, operations manager with the Appliances, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and Lighting (AHL) team at the Basingstoke facility, said in his welcome speech. “The space has been fully equipped and we will have the capabilities for high volume requirements.”

The 175-square-meter laboratory with new environmental chambers and power supply testing equipment is open and accepting samples for testing.
