NORTHBROOK, Ill. — April 15, 2025 — The following is a notification from UL Solutions that the communications cable bearing the serial numbers identified below may pose a potential fire hazard. The communications cable does not meet the riser flame test requirements of UL 1666, Standard Test for Flame Propagation Height of Electrical and Optical-Fiber Cables Installed Vertically in Shafts.
Name of Product: LTS LTAC5100W-CMR 99.99% Oxygen-Free Copper CMR Rated UL listed Network Cable - CAT5e
Remedy: UL Solutions recommends that the product be removed from service and discarded.
Identification on the Box: The cable box bears the following:
High Performance Network cable
Category 5E, 300Mhz
P/N: C5CU1000CMR-WH
UTP CAT5E BC 350Mhz UL CMR WHITE
1,000 FT
Additionally, the box bears a gold holographic UL label, the words “COMMUNICATIONS CABLE” and a serial number on the UL Label. Only those cable boxes with UL serial numbers ranging from AL00874143 to AL00874232 are affected by this notice.
