Currently, the countries of Central America are moving to create regional regulations, that is, regulations that are developed jointly between the participating countries of the region. These regional regulations are known as Central American Technical Regulations (RTCA).

UL de México has recently received accreditation from the Costa Rican Accreditation Entity (ECA) so that the UL Conformity Assessment Body can provide certification services for the following Central American Technical Regulations:
- RTCA 23.01.80:21 - SPLIT TYPE AIR CONDITIONERS, FREE DISCHARGE AND WITHOUT AIR DUCTS. ENERGY EFFICIENCY SPECIFICATIONS.
- RTCA 23.01.78:20 - INVERTER SPLIT TYPE AIR CONDITIONERS, WITH VARIABLE REFRIGERANT FLOW FREE DISCHARGE AND WITHOUT AIR DUCTS. ENERGY EFFICIENCY SPECIFICATIONS.
The previous RTCA will be applicable and required for the following countries: Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, and their entry into force in each country will be gradual during the following months. For more information about this, you can contact us.
