Electrical Safety For A/V and ICT Equipment

Overview

Many markets, both national and international, require that electrical products meet mandatory safety requirements in order to be sold. Two important International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standards issued by the IEC are IEC 60065 and IEC 60950-1. These standards dictate the safety requirements for A/V and IT equipment.

A harmonized, hazard–based safety standard, IEC 62368-1, designed to encompass A/V and IT products has been developed in response to technological changes as product capabilities merge.
