The UL Solutions Lightning Protection Professional Certifications are designed to provide individuals an opportunity to distinguish themselves with a credential focused on the critical knowledge and skills of the lightning protection industry. These professionals possess the necessary competencies to perform end-to-end installation of residential, commercial and military lightning protection systems in accordance with the requirements in UL 96A and NFPA 780. The program provides two paths toward certification:
- The UL Solutions Lightning Protection Professional Certifications are designed to provide individuals an opportunity to distinguish themselves with a credential focused on the critical knowledge and skills of the lightning protection industry. The program provides two paths toward certification:
- UL Solutions Lightning Protection Journeyman Certification (LPJC)
- The UL Solutions Lightning Protection Journeyman Certification covers requirements for ordinary structures from UL 96A and NFPA 780.
- UL Solutions Lightning Protection Master Certification (LPMC)
- The UL Solutions Lightning Protection Master Certification covers additional requirements for structures such as those housing or storing flammable liquids or gases and explosives as defined in NFPA 780, along with information found in the Annexes.

Open to qualified electricians, the goal of the PV system installer certification is to improve the safety and performance of PV systems through a more qualified workforce. These professionals possesses the necessary competencies to perform end-to-end installation of residential and/or commercial photovoltaic PV systems.
