USGBC is rounding out the release of LEED v4.1 credits, which are designed to simplify and improve credit language and clarify compliance pathways. Following the release of LEED v4.1 BD&C/ID&C credits and LEED v4.1 O&M credits USGBC released Materials & Resources (MR) credits for BD&C/ID&C. Below is an overview of the new language and how UL certified products can contribute to the achievement of the credits, and links to the credit language.
Materials & Resources 112 Building Product Disclosure & Optimization for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) – UL product specific EPDs are now worth 1.5 products versus the requirement to have 20 total products from 5 different manufacturers in Option 1. In Option 2, UL EPD Optimization tools are worth between 1 product and 2 products (or 100% thru 200% of cost) depending upon the optimizations that they show versus the criteria for 10 total products from 3 different manufacturers or 10% cost of installed products.
